Common questions about DealScout

What is the difference between syncing and visibility?

Syncing pulls your active Shopify discounts into Deal Scout. Visibility controls which synced deals can appear in your widgets.

A discount can be synced but hidden until you turn it on from the Discounts page. Deal Scout also syncs automatically in the background and when discount webhooks fire. Use Sync discounts on Home or Help after big changes in Shopify admin.

Why is my discount not showing on the storefront?

Check that the deal is synced, still Active in Shopify, and marked Visible in Deal Scout. It must match the shopper's page context. For example, whole cart deals on cart pages, and product specific deals on the matching product page.

Your plan also caps how many deals can appear at once. See usage on Discounts or upgrade on Plan. Finally, confirm the widget or app embed is enabled in your theme.

What do "eligible" and "almost eligible" deals mean?

Deal Scout compares each visible discount to the shopper's current cart and page context. That includes cart total, item count, product, variant, and collection.

Eligible deals meet those rules right now. Almost eligible deals are visible but not yet unlocked, such as when the shopper needs to spend more or add items.

Widget blocks can show a separate "More offers to unlock" section and spend more progress text. Theme settings let you control whether almost eligible deals appear.

Does the widget guarantee a discount will work at checkout?

The widget shows deals Deal Scout believes match the shopper's cart and context. Shopify always makes the final decision at checkout, including customer login rules, customer segments, usage limits, and combine with settings.

Deal Scout does not check whether a shopper is logged in or in a VIP segment. If a deal looks available in the widget but does not apply, that is usually a Shopify eligibility rule at checkout.

How do discount codes and automatic discounts work?

Code discounts show a copy button when the shopper is eligible. Shoppers can paste the code at checkout, or use Apply best offer & checkout on the floating widget (Growth and Enterprise). Enable it under Configuration. That button copies the best eligible code and opens checkout with the discount applied.

Automatic discounts appear in widgets when they match context. They are applied by Shopify at checkout without a code. Some blocks include a compact codes layout for cart pages.

Which storefront widgets can I use?

Floating widget: app embed on every page.

  • Product blocks: full deals, compact codes, or spend and save on product templates.

  • Cart blocks: full deals, compact codes, or spend and save on the cart page.

Enable one or more in the theme editor via Configuration → Storefront widgets, or the App blocks card on this Help page. Each block has its own styling and show or hide options.

Why can I not see the widget on my store?

Turn on the Deal Scout app embed for the floating widget, and/or add the product or cart app blocks to the right templates, then save your theme.

If you changed themes recently, add them again. Setup status on Home shows whether the embed and blocks are detected.

How do plan limits affect what shoppers see?

Plans cap three things: how many deals can be visible in Deal Scout at all, how many eligible offers appear in a widget, and how many almost eligible (spend based) offers appear.

Free and paid tiers differ. See Plan for current limits. If you hit a cap, hide lower priority deals on Discounts or upgrade your plan.

Can I customise offer text and widget branding?

On Starter and above, edit storefront titles, subtitles, and tooltips per discount from Discounts. Starter and above can remove Deal Scout attribution on the storefront.

Growth and Enterprise add the auto apply button setting, custom floating widget icon, button colours, and global custom CSS under Configuration. Per block colours and layout are in the theme editor.

How do I update deals after changing discounts in Shopify?

Click Sync discounts on Home or Help, then review visibility on Discounts.

New discounts are hidden by default until you mark them visible. Edits to titles, codes, or rules in Shopify admin require a sync to refresh what Deal Scout shows.
