Set up your first DealScout widget

This guide explains the basic setup flow for merchants who want to create an active offer and show it in an inline or floating storefront widget.

Install DealScout

Install the app from Shopify, open the app admin, and confirm the store you want to configure.

Create your first active deal

Add the deal name, shopper-facing copy, and any conditions needed to explain when the offer is eligible.

Choose how many offers to show

Set a display limit so shoppers see helpful offer information without overwhelming the page.

Enable inline or floating widgets

Select the widget type that fits your storefront. Inline widgets sit within page content; floating widgets stay accessible as shoppers browse.

Preview the storefront

Check the widget on the relevant storefront pages and confirm the copy, placement, and offer count are correct.

Publish the widget

When the preview looks right, publish the widget and revisit the app any time you need to update offer details or styling.

If something does not appear as expected

Check that the deal is active, the widget is enabled, the theme placement is present, and the offer display limit has not hidden the item you expected to see.
